Overview
Surface Mount Resistors are basically metal film resistors or metal oxide resistors that are mounted on rectangular ceramic cores, instead of axial leads. They are also known as Surface Mount Device (SMD) resistors. Read More
Instead of two leads coming out of axial resistors, SMD resistors have multiple pins coming out of the two ends of a rectangular package. These are referred to as Dual-Inline-Package (DIP). SMD resistors can be either soldered onto the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) or be inserted in and out of a solderless bread-board.
Connector pins are fixed to the ends of the resistive element and the entire package except the pins (including the substrate and the resistive elements) are sealed to protect the package from moisture and heat.
Like axial resistors, SMD resistors also have standard codes to indicate resistance value tolerance and power rating. EIA-96, 3-digit code and 4-digit code are some of the most widely used SMD resistor codes.
Surface mount resistors are widely used in electronic circuits.
KWK has a partnership with KRAH group, Germany and the Widap Group, Switzerland who are market leaders in the automotive and industry segment respectively.
KWK offers resistors with diverse construction and mounting options to suit customer specific requirements.
All our products are ROHS (Restriction of the Use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) compliant.
