Overview
Resistors that efficiently transfer heat from the resistive element out into the surrounding medium or heat sink are known as heat sinkable resistors. Resistive power density largely depends on the mounting arrangement and its thermal aspects. Chassis mounted resistors provide low temperature coefficient of resistance and thus are ideal for the purpose of heat sinking. Read More
Chassis mount resistors are basically wire-wound resistors where a large ceramic core is molded into an aluminum, chassis-mount housing using extrusion. The wire-wound design maximizes pulse handling, while the aluminum housing provides superior heat conduction. Since heat is released in one plane, that side is attached to an external heat sink.
Chassis mount resistors commonly find application in:
KWK Resistors manufactures Chassis Mount Resistors with non-inductive windings and their compact design is suitable for effective thermal management. Resistance values range from 0.005 ohm up to 250k ohm.
