Overview
High Power resistors are designed to withstand and dissipate large amounts of power. Resistors are rated by their resistance value in Ohms (Ω) and the electrical power in Watts (W) that they can safely dissipate depending upon their size. Their power rating may range from a few Watts to several kiloWatts. Read More
There are various types of High Power Resistors - Braking resistors, Radial Type, Aluminium Housed, Silicon Coated, Vitreous Enamelled Resistors. High Power resistors come in customised designs and materials to suit the product where they are applied.
They may have heat sinks mounted for extended power dissipation. Lead-free vitreous enamel coating is provided for greater durability. A stainless steel strip might be used as the resistive element for its corrosion resistance and negligible temperature coefficient. Aluminium housed resistors are suited to withstand industrial applications that may include vibration, shock and harsh environmental conditions. Low inductance characteristics make the power resistors particularly suitable for high-frequency applications.
KWK-Resistors has years of experience designing High Power resistors for the most demanding applications in the industry. KWK’s engineering and manufacturing processes allow for forced liquid or air-cooling when the high power resistors are stressed at maximum load.
KWK is also a leading designer and Manufacturer of Metal Clad Braking resistors which can easily be chassis mounted.
KWK also has the distinction of designing one of the slimmest resistors available in the market with the Ultra Low Profile Slim Resistor series - UL50/100.
All our products are ROHS (Restriction of the Use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) compliant.
